Balgeddie House Hotel – Wedding Venue in Fife, Scotland
The Cragganmore Ceilidh Band have had the pleasure of being the wedding ceilidh band for several couples at Balgeddie House Hotel located on the outskirts of Glenrothes in central Fife. Glenrothes is a 50-minute drive from Edinburgh, just over half an hour drive from Dundee and around an hour and 15 minutes from Glasgow. Part of the Best Western Group, Balgeddie House Hotel is a popular, family owned, wedding venue.
The hotel is a charming historic building set in beautiful, landscaped gardens and grounds. Marriage ceremonies either civil or religious can be held either within the hotel or in the grounds. The building and gardens create a great backdrop for wedding photographs.
Within the hotel there are three areas to cater for all sizes of weddings. Two hundred guests can be accommodated in the Nairn Suite, the Garden Restaurant can accommodate up to 60 and The Wee Nairn can seat up to 30 guests.
Our wedding ceilidh band has entertained for very small and intimate wedding parties at Balgeddie as well as for much larger and more traditional, energetic weddings. All of the weddings we have previously performed for at Balgeddie House Hotel have included either overseas guests or guests from south of the border. The success of these events demonstrated that a Scottish wedding ceilidh, with an expert ‘dance caller’ is a great way for wedding guests to mix and get to know each other and for both inexperienced and more expert dancers to have fun no matter the skill level.
It was at Balgeddie House Hotel where the Cragganmore Fiddle Duo were asked to perform a piece of music by pop artist Regina Spektor, during the ceremony. An interesting first for them! The Cragganmore Fiddle Duo can be a great addition to your wedding day, whether it be during your wedding ceremony, as you walk down the aisle, or during a drink’s reception, where the duo can interact with guests.
