The Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh
The Cragganmore Ceilidh Band are looking forward to their first gig after lockdown at the stunning Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, where they will provide the entertainment for a traditional Scottish ceilidh to celebrate a special wedding anniversary.
Located in the city centre of Edinburgh, The Balmoral is situated at the east end of Princes Street and the corner of North Bridge, with views of Edinburgh Castle and Edinburgh’s Old Town. With its iconic Clock Tower, the hotel is a well-known Edinburgh landmark. Opened in 1902 as the North British Station Hotel, the hotel has undergone many refurbishments over the years and had many famous visitors including Laurel and Hardy, Elizabeth Taylor, and The Queen Mother.
Now part of the Rocco Forte Hotel Group, this stylish and comfortable hotel is the ideal location for weddings, cocktail parties, gala dinners, or any other special celebration. The hotel offers 10 event spaces that retain their elegant original features, and experience wonderful views across the city. The Balmoral can cater for events of 15 to 400 guests.
The hotel’s location makes it easily accessible for guests from across the country and further afield. Waverley Station, with its country-wide rail links, is adjacent to the hotel and in less than 30 minutes you can reach Edinburgh Airport.
Balmoral means “majestic dwelling” in Gaelic and it seems a fitting venue for a traditional Scottish ceilidh. The Cragganmore Ceilidh Band cannot wait to return to this fantastic venue to provide an evening of Scottish ceilidh dancing.
