Pollokshields Burgh Hall – Glasgow Wedding Venue
The Cragganmore Ceilidh Band are looking forward to returning to Pollokshields Burgh Hall later this year, to provide the evening entertainment for a wedding. Offering a mixture of Ceilidh and Disco music from our DJ, we ensure that there is something for everyone.
Located in the grounds of the stunning Maxwell Park in Glasgow’s southside, the hall which dates back to 1890, is an ‘A’ Listed Renaissance-style building, designed by the famous architect Henry Edward Clifford.
In 2019 Pollokshields Burgh Hall won ‘Best Historic Venue’ at the Luxury Travel Guide Awards.
The interior of Pollokshields Burgh Hall comprises several lovely rooms, including the light and airy ‘Clifford Hall’ which is suitable for wedding ceremonies, as well as the Loggia, from which you can access a private garden area within Maxwell Park, ideal for a summer drinks reception. Maxwell Park is an ideal location for wedding photographs with its tree-lined walkways. The ‘Maxwell Hall’ can cater for 130 guests and you can enjoy your evening meal in the traditional surroundings of wood panelling and stained-glass windows. For couples who wish to have a more intimate wedding, the ‘Stirling Hall’ can accommodate up to 40 people.
Pollokshields Burgh Hall is easily accessible for guests from across the country. Located just a ten-minute drive from Glasgow City Centre, this fantastic wedding venue can be accessed via travel routes across Scotland and further south via the M8, M74, and M77 motorways. The venue is approximately a 1 hour and 15-minute drive from Edinburgh, just over an hour and 30-minute drive from Dundee, 40 minutes from Stirling, 13 minutes from Glasgow Airport, and 13 minutes from Buchanan Street Train Station.
The Maxwell Hall is ideal for a ceilidh, with a large stage area to accommodate the wedding’s ceilidh band and plenty of floor space in the hall for energetic ceilidh dancing! The Cragganmore Ceilidh Band can’t wait to return to this great venue for another special wedding celebration.
